In Memory of Norm

On January 12, 2021, we lost a great man in Kiwanis. Many of our long-term Kiwanis Cash Calendar Advertisers will remember Norm Hicks as a man that didn’t like to take “no” for an answer. He worked tirelessly to make our community a better place for our youth. Norm started the Kiwanis Cash Calendar in 2002. It was his passion that drove the calendar to be a great success. Another project that was dear to Norm’s heart was the Key Leader Program. Key Leader is a Youth Leadership Program for high school students. Norm worked diligently to make this program thrive by providing opportunities for youth that may not have had the opportunity to participate. We will miss you Norm but will never forget your tenacity, your drive, and the kindness you showed every child you met. It was an honor being able to work beside you in Kiwanis. Rest in Peace our Kiwanis Friend!

Through The Greater Saint John Community Foundation, the club has established the Kiwanian Norman Hicks Memorial Bursary. This bursary is awarded annually to a student from an area high school that is pursuing a post-secondary education.
