The K-Family consists of over 600,000 member volunteers in 90 countries and territories. These Service Leadership Programs encompass about 15,000 different clubs, which involve adults, university students, high school students and younger kids.  The Kiwanis Club of Saint John sponsors a number of these club programs in area schools.  We are always interested in starting new club programs in the community. If you know of a school or organization that would like to have this type of service leadership program, please contact us.

Kiwanis International is a worldwide service organization whose membership work to improve their communities. Kiwanis Clubs sponsor the other clubs in the Kiwanis family through advice, manpower and financial support. Kiwanis started in Detroit, Michigan in 1915 and now has clubs in over 80 countries. The defining statement for Kiwanis is – Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. The Saint John Kiwanis Club was established in 1926.

Aktion Club is the newest of the sponsored clubs in Kiwanis. The membership of these clubs is comprised of adults with disabilities. This club provides the members with an opportunity to provide service to their community.  The Aktion Club of Key Industries is sponsored by our club. 

K-Kids is a Kiwanis sponsored program for elementary school children. Membership in these clubs provides these children with the opportunity to develop self-esteem, leadership skills and respect while doing service work for others. Locally, there are K-Kids programs at St. Patrick's School, Hazen White-St. Francis, Princess Elizabeth and Quispamsis Elementary. 

Builders Club is a service club for students in junior high and middle school. Currently a Builders Club program is operating at Princess Elizabeth.

Key Club is the high school leadership program sponsored by Kiwanis. It  is the largest student run service organization in the world at the high school level. Key Club boasts a world wide membership of over 240,000 students. Our local Kiwanis Club sponsors Key Club programs at St. Malachy's Memorial High School and Saint John High School.

Circle K is the largest student run service organization in the world. Clubs are found on university and college campuses in 15 countries. Sponsored by Kiwanis, Circle K clubs work to improve the communities in which they live and in the world around them. The members chose the projects they wish to undertake from hands-on service projects to fundraising – the choice is limitless.
